Raptors Working Hard On And Off The Ice
The Ravenwood Raptors Hockey team is working hard on and off the ice.
Ravenwood Hockey has a heritage of a quality hockey program on the ice
but this year the team is striving to also have a community impact off
the ice. The Raptors have remained in first place this season and on
January 6th enjoyed a dramatic late third period comeback for a 3-2
victory over the long standing rival Brentwood Bruins.
The team this year however is also making a statement off the ice as
young men being involved in our community. Ravenwood Raptors
participated as a team at the Susan G Koman walk to raise money and
awareness for a breast cancer cure. The ice Raptors also at Christmas
adopted a family in need during the season and went on a shopping spree
to make sure the family enjoyed a special Christmas.
The team has taken the lessons learned on the ice and are applying them
in the community. Senior team captain Corbin Pefanis states, "We see
how much better we are working as team on the ice and have taken that
same mentality in to work in the community. As a team we can work
together and make a big impact."
